So, this is something i’ve been working on during the week. while i was talking with Emily yesterday, she came with the idea of creating a short story for my drawing and i thought it was really cute so i wanted to share it with all of you.Mistletoe
He hasn’t heard from Blaine in eight days. Winter break started the afternoon of the 16th, and it was now Christmas Eve. The fight was stupid. He wasn’t even sure why it mattered in the first place or why he had over reacted, all he knows is that he misses Blaine.
Friday December 16th…
It was to be their first Christmas as a couple. Last years flirty duet played through Kurt’s mind as he watched others perform in Glee club that afternoon. It was their last class before Christmas and they were spending it signing every Christmas song in their repertoire. Mercedes was performing her favorite number of All I Want For Christmas Is You when Blaine leaned over and whispered in his ear.
“So I hate to say this but I have to cancel our plans for this afternoon.”
“And why is that?” Kurt whispered back.
“The Warblers are having one last get together before the holidays and they invited me. I couldn’t say no. I haven’t seen those guys in forever.” Blaine explained.
Kurt’s mouth zipped tight. He couldn’t believe Blaine was blowing him off for the Warblers. Don’t get Kurt wrong he loved those guys, all except one, the one that undoubtedly thought to invite Blaine, but not Kurt. The one that reeked of Craig’s list, Sebastian. Kurt sat there fuming as Mercedes song came to a close and Mr. Schue stood in the front of the room spouting something about having a safe holiday and not to forget they had regionals to think about over the break. As the rest of the club packed up their stuff to leave, Kurt sat in his chair. The rest of the club left before Blaine had the courage to say anything.
“Kurt, are you okay?” He asked sounding worried as to the reply that he was going to get.
Kurt looked up at him from where he was sitting. Things were most certainly not okay.
“No Blaine I am not okay.” He said through gritted teeth.
“I don’t see what the big deal is Kurt. You know the guys. It’s not like we will be doing anything bad. Just a movie marathon and some video games.” Blaine said.
“You’re right Blaine I know the guys, but I don’t like the fact that Sebastian is now “one of the guys”!” Kurt raised his voice.
“Kurt how many times do I have to tell you that Sebastian means nothing to me? And besides the warblers all know how crazy I am about you to even let him try anything.” He explained as he reached for Kurt’s hand so they could leave.
Kurt pulled his hand away. He was not going to stand for this. Sure the warblers knew how crazy Blaine was about him, but Sebastian, well Sebastian can’t seem to get that through his crazy meerkat head. Kurt trusted Blaine, but there was no way in hell that he would ever trust Sebastian.
“I’m sorry Blaine, but if you go I will be incredibly upset with you.” Kurt said as he stood up, bushed himself off and headed for the door.
“Then I guess you are mad at me, because I’m not going to skip out on my best friends just because my boyfriend is acting like a child.” Blaine said.
Kurt stopped in the doorframe. He didn’t look at Blaine behind him. He couldn’t, not with tears in his eyes. He raised his hand to wipe his eyes and continued walking out to his car.
That was the last time he had heard from Blaine. No calls, no texts, nothing. So here he was on Christmas Eve alone. Finn had gone to Rachel’s and his dad and Carole were asleep upstairs. He sat alone downstairs on the sofa next to the beautifully lit Christmas tree, while the fire in the fireplace started to die. He let out a sad sigh.
“Well Hummel it looks like you will be spending Christmas Eve alone again.”
He got up from his warm seat and headed for the stairs to go to his room, when he heard a soft knock at the door.
“Who the hell is here at this time of night?” He thought to himself.
He walked to the door. His jaw was agape as he saw his boyfriend standing on his doorstep in the freezing cold with a sad look on his face.
“B-Blaine, what are you doing here?” Kurt stammered.
He got closer only a foot away from Kurt.
“I’m sorry Kurt. I know I upset you and I’m sorry I did. I didn’t even have fun with the guys I was so upset about the fight and I cried and they comforted me. I just- I’m so sorry Kurt.” He explained as his teeth chattered from the cold.
“No, Blaine I over reacted, and I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to ruin your time with the guys. I was acting like a child you were right. I’m so sorry Blaine. Please forgive me.” He said as tears welled in his eyes.
He grabbed Blaine by the shirt and pulled him into a bone-crushing hug, trying to warm him up and apologize in one love filled action. He didn’t notice Blaine glancing up. All of a sudden his hands were loosely on Blaine’s waist as he was slowly leaning back, Blaine’s hands on his face, inches from his lips.
“I love you.” Blaine whispered.
“I love you t-” was all Kurt could reply before Blaine gently pressed their lips together.
It was sweet and slow, communicating a weeks worth of apologies into one mind-blowing kiss. They broke apart when air was needed. Kurt saw Blaine’s eyes drift upward.
“One of my favorite things about Christmas,” He saw the confused look on Kurt’s face, “Mistletoe.” He smiled.
Kurt looked up to see the little green plant above their heads. He smiled. Looks like he’d have some company on Christmas Eve after all.
